Common openings include screened vents (mesh-backed), zippered access flaps, split corners for electrical boxes, grommeted drain points, and full perimeter drop skirts for units mounted on curbs.

• Screened vents: reduce condensation while blocking debris
• Zippered panels: service access without removing the entire cover
• Grommets: drainage and tie-down anchor points
• Split corner: clears exterior disconnect boxes on commercial side-draft units

Wall-mounted side-draft coolers often need low-side clearance for water lines and high-side relief for warm air paths. Mark pipe exits on your dimension sheet; we position openings away from prevailing wind when possible.

• Keep water line cutouts above typical splash height
• Reinforce edges with binding tape on high-wear openings
• Match opening to pad frame — not only to outer cabinet line

Rooftop down-draft units may need top ventilation or skirt clearance around the curb. Specify if the cover must clear a crane lift lid or maintenance hatch. Drainage openings prevent water weight from collapsing lightweight tops.

• Curb-mounted units: measure curb OD separately from cabinet OD
• Wind exposure: fewer large openings on prevailing-wind side
