Start with environment: desert sun → UV-stabilized 600D or reflective silver topcoat; coastal salt air → heavier PU or TPU lamination; heavy rain → PVC-backed or fully sealed vinyl; winter off-season → insulated laminate. Indoor or warehouse storage may only need 300D polyester.

• 600D Oxford + PU: default for most custom residential and light commercial jobs
• 900D + TPU: industrial and extra-large cabinets
• 300D + PVC backing: maximum waterproofing at moderate weight
• Mesh: in-season pest and debris barrier — not a winter solution

Compare materials on waterproof rating (mm H₂O), UV stability, abrasion resistance, and operating temperature — not denier alone. A 600D UV-stabilized fabric often outlasts untreated 900D in direct sun.
